Did anyone think that we’d still be under lockdown? We certainly didn’t. Humans aren’t meant to be isolated people, and we’re beginning to see the effects of distancing more and more. As a murder mystery party company in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. areas, we are seeing more and more people reach out to see if we can host a party. The answer is yes! We are ready to party as much as anyone.

Here are some tips on hosting a murder mystery party during COVID:

  1. Party with your pod: By now, most people have developed their own COVID pods – the circle that they feel comfortable with. Chances are that mixing things up a little bit with a murder mystery party will be a more than welcome change of pace.
  2. Spread it out: Try to host in a larger space than you normally would choose so that guests can distance a little more. With warmer temperatures heading our way in the not-too-distant future, hosting a murder mystery party outdoors will give guests even more space to distance.
  3. Cut the guest list: If more space isn’t available, cut the guest list. The great thing about our murder mystery parties is that they work for small groups. Not every party has to be a big raging bash. In fact, we’d argue that small, intimate shindigs with one’s closest crew are more memorable.
  4. Make it a BYOS: Many people may not feel comfortable with communal costumes, props, drinks, and food. You know, the stuff that makes a murder mystery party awesome (other than an amazing storyline and talented players, of course). So make the party a Bring Your Own Stuff party.

The longer the pandemic continues, the more creative people are when it comes to fulfilling their needs for social interaction. We’re doing our part by regularly testing and wearing masks. If you’re ready to party with East Coast Murder Mystery, contact us today.
